The locality of Bibala was called Vila Arriaga until 1975. It is a town in the south of Angola, located in the Namibe province. The town can be reached by Angola's southern railway network or by bus.
The most famous attraction of Bibala County is its unique mineral waters. A local legend tells of hunters chasing a wounded elephant that came to the healing springs and completely cured its wounds. The families of the hunters were left without a meat supply, but they discovered miraculous waters that could cure many diseases. Human settlements sprang up around them, and later the county of Bibala was founded.
Unspoilt beautiful nature, healing waters and excellent opportunities for fishing, diving and beach holidays make this province a popular holiday destination.
