Cohunu Koala Park is a 14-hectare bushland park near Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is one of the few places in Australia where every visitor can hold a real koala in their arms and feed this adorable creature. It is this opportunity that makes the park one of the most popular places for tourists to visit.
The park was founded in 1982 and originally housed only 4 koalas that were brought from the south of the country. Today, there are now 25 eucalyptus bears and the number is increasing by about 4 each year. Koalas are known to be marsupial animals, females carry their cubs in a pouch for 6 months and then on their backs for another 4 months.
In the park "Kounu Koala" you can take a leisurely stroll along the paths in the Australian bush, admire colourful parrots, of which there are about 30 species, and see the endemic inhabitants of Australia - wild dog dingo, kangaroo, wallaby, ostrich emu, spotted axis deer and others. Some animals can be stroked - for example, kangaroos are very fond of human affection. Koala, as already mentioned, you can hold in your arms and make a photo as a souvenir. By the way, you can be photographed with an exact copy of a dinosaur, which are installed in the park. All the money raised from the photos goes to the National Koala Research Programme.
