As part of the Victoria Museum, the Melbourne Museum is located in Carlton Gardens, near the Royal Exhibition Centre. In 2010, the exhibit "600 Million Years of Victoria State History", which also displays skeletons of a variety of prehistoric creatures.
The Melbourne Gallery offers an insight into the history of Melbourne from the the second quarter of the 19th century to the present day, and learn the story of the legendary horse Far Lapa .
