The National Zoo and Aquarium is a private collection of animals located on the western shore of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra's Yarralumla district. It is also Australia's only zoo combined with an aquarium.

The zoo features both endemic species and animals introduced to the continent from other countries - for example, it has Australia's largest collection of big cats, including the country's only tiger lion. Besides him, here you can see common and white lions, Sumatran and Bengal tigers, puma, cheetah, serval (a small African wild cat), snow leopard. Other large inhabitants of the zoo are the Malayan bear Biruang and brown bear. Australian fauna is represented by dingo wild dogs, koalas, kangaroos, wombats, Tasmanian devils, wallabies, emus and other animals. The zoo also houses different species of restless monkeys, funny meerkats, long-necked giraffes, lazy reptiles and colourful birds. You can meet all of the zoo's amazing inhabitants by booking one of the various tours, such as "Meet the Cheetah", "Morning Tea with Puma", "Gourmet Lunch with Giraffes", "Hug with Emu" and more. Here you can also hand-feed lions, cook food for birds, make up a puzzle for monkeys or make some animal toys with your own hands.

The zoo runs a number of conservation campaigns, where any visitor can become a participant by donating a certain amount, for example, to save the snow leopards of Central Asia or the orangutans of Borneo Island.
