Sea World Entertainment Park on Queensland's Gold Coast is a unique opportunity to visit one of Australia's largest oceanariums, meet marine mammals and ride water rides. marine mammals and water rides. Sea World was founded in 1958 by Keith Williams. It was originally a venue for water ski shows that combined of entertainment, aqua-ballet and amusement rides. In 1971, the water shows began to be staged and a man-made lake was dug in the park. Another year later dolphins were brought into the park, marine artefacts were exhibited, a model of the Endeavour of the ship Endeavour and built a swimming pool, and the park was renamed Sea World. В 1989 saw the addition of the Sky High Skyway observation deck, which offers a bird's eye view of the park. In 2004, the Shark Cove attraction was launched - a system of artificial lagoons that allows you to watch the real sharks, including potentially dangerous tiger and bull sharks. More recently the park has opened a 96 metre pool where you can see Antarctic penguins. And here you can also see polar bears - it is the only such place in Australia. And you can see them both on the ground and under water and from the height of a special observation deck.

One of the favourite areas for kids of all ages is Shipwreck Cove: here they can climb the fortress walls, climb ropes and take part in an interactive sea battle. On the beach "Sesame Street" children will meet their favourite cartoon characters in the live show "Festive Bert and Ernie's Island" and several fun rides.

Older visitors should embark on a sea life rescue expedition on the Jet Rescue" and ride a jet ski at 70 kilometres per hour on a dashing, twisting and tilting track. And then take a ride on the only monorail in Australia.

The Imagine dolphin show takes place at the Dolphin Cave, the largest sand-bottomed lagoon ever constructed for such a purpose. The lagoon consists of 5 pools that hold 17 million litres of water! 2500 people can take part in the show at the same time. Another popular with dolphin lovers is the nursery pool, where newly born dolphins live baby dolphins under the care of their mums. At Stingray Reef, you can feed one of the 100 stingrays that live here, one of the most understudied animals of ocean fauna.

Finally, the park offers catamaran rides, swimming with dolphins, take a 5- or 30-minute helicopter tour, or go on a cruise to observe the dolphins.
