Seven Mile Beach is one of the most popular holiday destinations 15 km east of Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. You can get here either by public transport or by private car on the excellent motorway. The beach also attracts tourists with its breathtaking views, historic buildings and amusement parks, and is never overcrowded.
Seven Mile Beach is managed by the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service. Here you can lie on the purest golden sand, breathing in the amazing pine-scented air. In the turquoise waters lapping the shores of the beach, you can often see flocks of playful dolphins, and over the distant cliffs you can see the adorable sea eagle soaring in search of prey.
There is something for everyone on this pristine beach. Surfing, horseback riding and diving are available for the active holidaymaker. For the contemplative, there are quiet walks along the surf. On the beach itself there are several picnic and barbecue areas. A golf course, an equestrian centre, several shops, a tavern and a first-class hotel are located a little further away, where you can stay indefinitely to enjoy Seven Mile Beach to the full.
