The Dinosaur Wall is a unique archaeological monument as tall as a 30-storey building. It is 1.2 kilometres long and 68 million years old. That's when, in the second half of the Cretaceous, the wall was the bottom of a freshwater lake. And dinosaurs would come here to quench their thirst and find something to eat. But as a result of shifting tectonic strata, the bottom has risen and stood almost vertically, now it is tilted at an angle of 70 degrees. Researchers counted 5,000 footprints on the wall that could have been left by 294 different species of dinosaurs. This amazing place was discovered quite by accident, when in 1994, one of the employees of the cement factory operating near Sucre simply decided to take a walk. This is how K. Schutt discovered the wall, which had been trampled by dinosaurs! The footprints of the long-extinct giants were clearly visible on the steep cliff. As palaeontologists say, such a number of giant footprints in one place in the world is not found anywhere else in the world! In the future, not far from the famous Wall of Dinosaurs opened a museum where you can see life-size of those who left their footprints. Of course, not real giants, but their models. Nevertheless, children and adults are delighted to visit this park of the Cretaceous period. It is especially educational for kids to study the history of ancient times, in close proximity to the evidence of the presence of prehistoric creatures on earth.
