The Church of Christ Pantocrator is an Orthodox church located in the town of Nessebar. The building is located on the territory of an architectural and historical reserve, which is included in the UNESCO List of Cultural and Historical Heritage, as well as in the List of One Hundred National Tourist Sites in Bulgaria.
The church, which is one of the main attractions of Nessebar, was built in the XIII-XIV centuries. It is one of the most famous and best preserved medieval temples of the town. The building is not completely preserved (part of the wall and the dome of one of the towers are missing), but it still impresses with its beauty and special architectural style.
The building has a rectangular shape and reaches a length and width of about 16 and 7 metres, respectively. Two exits are located on the west and south side. On the eastern side are three small, richly profiled apse. A square bell tower rises above the narthex. On the roof of the building there is an octagonal tower with arched windows. The main external decoration of the temple is the textured masonry of bricks of different size and colour. The abundance of double and triple arched elements, profiling and other interesting architectural solutions make the Church of Christ Pantocrator a true work of architectural art.
