Victoria Peak is the first site you should visit first. It is visited by 6 million people every year. Victoria Peak is the highest point of the island (552 metres ), from the top of which you can enjoy a magnificent view of Hong Kong. And if you get to the peak in the daylight, you have a unique opportunity to see a dazzling panorama of the whole of Hong Kong Island, the New Territories, Kowloon and the mountain peaks in the distance.
The view from Victoria Peak at night of thousands of skyscraper lights will give you a thrill and excitement. Victoria Peak offers many fantastic activities, shopping opportunities and restaurant visits. The most convenient way to get to the Peak is by railway funicular. It was built in 1888. When boarding the funicular, try to take the front seats, preferably on the right hand side - this is the most favourable position from which to view the "simple but impressive spectacle". The funicular operates from 07.00 to midnight, at ten-minute intervals, daily, without weekends.
While walking around the Peak, don't forget to stop for lunch. Cafe Deo and Movenpick Marche are usually popular with tourists. You'll be served an international menu and have a great view of Hong Kong.
