The building of the Princely Palace, dating back to the 15th century, was periodically damaged by fires, earthquakes and explosions of the gunpowder stored there, but it has survived to this day. Today it houses the city museum, as well as the only monument erected in all the centuries of the existence of the Dubrovnik Republic - to the rich sailor Miho Pratsatat, who bequeathed it his entire fortune in the 17th century.
