St Mark's Church, located on the square of the same name, is famous for its amazing roof. The coloured tiles covering it depict the coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia, as well as the city of Zagreb.
The church was built in the 13th century, but has been rebuilt several times. The entrance is decorated with statues of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, St Mark and other apostles. The interior of the church is decorated with works by sculptor Ivan Meštrović. Note the frescoes depicting the Slovenes of the Croatian royal family.
