Despite its relatively small size, the popular resort town of Protaras, located on the south-east coast of Cyprus, is one of the most visited destinations on the island. Although its main tourist lure is its beautiful beaches, the city has many attractions that also attract thousands of people looking for a quality and interesting holiday. So, one of such places is the city's Historical Museum, which will be equally interesting to both adults and children. A large number of exhibits will tell about the ancient and modern history not only of the city, but also of the whole island. There is a large collection of various items related to the daily life of local residents, their everyday life and traditions.

The exposition of the museum is divided into two parts. One of them is fully dedicated to the ancient history of the island. There you can see fragments of ancient frescoes and mosaics, sculptures and household items found during archaeological excavations in and around the city, clothing and tools. The main part of the exposition, which is of the greatest interest to visitors, tells about the new history of Cyprus. Its oldest exhibits date back to the end of the 19th century. There visitors can see the largest collection of means of transport on the whole island - from modest carts of ordinary residents to luxurious carriages of the aristocracy. There are also collections of toys and pottery, such as plates, vases and jugs.
