Boiling Lake is the second largest hot lake in the world and one of the wonders of nature. The water temperature reaches 92 degrees, but during rainy periods it can drop to 10 degrees. Bathing in this lake is strictly forbidden because jets of hot air and even lava can rush under the water. Locals do not recommend going to the lake alone, without a guide. The lake is surrounded by mountains on all sides, except for one place where the water pours out and enters the rivers. The climb to Boiling Lake takes a whole day (from 4 to 8 hours, depending on your strength), so you should start early in the morning to be back before dark. From the village of Lauda you can drive to the Ti-Tu-Gosh cave, from where the hike starts. You will cross several valleys, walk along the ridge of Mount Morne Nichols, through wild forest, past many sulphur streams. In the Valley of Destruction, you'll see columns of hot air rising from the ground. Not far from Boiling Lake flows a mountain sulphur stream that forms many natural pools. Here you can bathe and restore your strength. Those who have been here say that this difficult journey is worth it to have a look at the amazing miracle of nature!
