The name Emerald Pool translates to Emerald Lake. It is located in the Morne Trois Piton National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a unique park in the Eastern Caribbean. It's one of the most beautiful places in Dominica, with crystal clear lake water and a small twelve metre waterfall are protected on all sides by volcanic cliffs and a beautiful rainforest.

The lake can be reached by car or from the town of Roseau by bus. The lake is a five-minute walk from the road, between Castle Bruce and Canefield. Castle Bruce is a village on the eastern side of the island, and Canefield is a small town north of Roseau with a cultural centre and the airport. You'll have to walk part of the way from the road, along a convenient pathway in the rainforest, which can easily get lost if you stray off the path. Along the way, you'll come across several streams with bridges. Halfway through halfway along the trail, you'll come to a lookout point that offers a wonderful view from above of Emerald Lake.

You can swim in the lake, the water here is always quite cool and crystal clear. The sun's rays penetrating the water and refracting in make the lake surface emerald. Emerald Lake is an unspoilt corner wilderness, which is why films are shot here and honeymooners often come here to get married. If you're in Dominica, you should definitely visit this lake and take a swim in its emerald, cool water.
