Trafalgar Falls are one of the most popular destinations in Dominica - they are truly an amazing sight. They are located in the rainforest about 20 minutes drive from Roseau, the capital of Dominica. They are called twin waterfalls and the streams that form them originate from tributaries of the Roseau River. The right waterfall, which is 75 feet high, is called "Mother" and the left one, which reaches 125 feet, is called "Father". You can admire the falls from a special viewing platform surrounded by orchids. You can take a refreshing dip in the pool of the waterfall, which is smaller. Another waterfall has geothermal springs, the water is very rich in sulphur, which has a healing effect on the skin. In the early morning, the locals usually bathe here as well. It is a wonderful place where you can alternate between cold and hot baths. On the way to the waterfalls, you can also see many beautiful streams and natural pools to bathe in. The volcanic blocks are constantly moving and changing the landscape due to storms and heavy rains. It is easier to climb up to the right waterfall now, as the road to the left waterfall is badly blocked after another collapse.
