There is a small Hydrobiological Museum next to the Kaithbay Fort. The museum's 50 aquariums are home to fish, molluscs and corals caught from the Nile, Mediterranean and Red Seas. The museum's biggest attraction is the skeleton of a 17 metre whale beached east of Alexandria in 1936.
