The Karelian House Museum is one of the most interesting sights in Imatra. It is located in a picturesque place on the bank of the Vuoksa River, not far from the city centre.

The museum is worth a visit not only for those who are fond of Finnish history. The life of an old Karelian village will not leave anyone indifferent. Right in the open air The museum recreates an amazing rural landscape of the 19th century with courtyards, original houses and other various attributes of Karelia life. On the territory of the museum there are collected various buildings, the oldest of which date back to the middle of the 19th century, as well as a large number of lovingly collected paintings, which unfold before their visitors a living sketch of everyday life. Museum is open to the public from May to August. It is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00, the day off is Monday.
