In Kemi there is an Evangelical Lutheran church built in neo-Gothic style, designed by Josef Stenbeck in 1902. The building, made of red brick, not only attracts the eye with its beauty, but it is also large enough to hold up to 1000 people. The large crucifix inside the church is impressive.

The excellent acoustics allows visitors to fully enjoy the concerts of sacred and classical Classical and sacred music concerts, which are held here throughout the year. Outside the church is A huge war memorial is located outside the church. The bell tower of the church serves as a good landmark for both local residents and sailors. In 2003, the church in Kemi was renovated and opened to parishioners and tourists all year round.
