My Application

The Mikkeli Art Museum was opened in 1970 and is located in the centre of the city, just opposite the cathedral, in the Granite House, which was built according to the design of by Armas Rankka in 1912.

Three times in its history the museum has changed its name, the last of which - the Art Museum - it received only in 1981.

The permanent exhibition includes Finnish paintings from the 1870s to the 1980s. Most of the works are by post-impressionists.

In the museum exhibits sculptures from the collection of Johann Haapasalo, as well as furniture, oriental rugs and small art objects.
