Suur-Savo Museum is a cultural and historical museum in Mikkeli. It is based on people's desire to learn about their own roots and local cultural identity.Today the museum's exposition occupies several buildings, but most of the exhibitions take place in the main building. There are exhibits about the history of the region and the city of Mikkeli, and about ancestors' deeds from the past. There is also a wide range of exhibits on the everyday life of the peasants of South Savo.
