The Art Museum is located in Puolalanpuisto Park. It is housed in a large granite building built in 1904 by architect Gustav Nyström and stands majestically above the city. It houses a collection of Finnish paintings from turn-of-the-century classics to contemporary art of recent years. The museum has been undergoing restoration work for a long time. It has recently opened to the public.
