A very interesting amusement park is Puy du Fou in the Western Loire (two hours by train from Paris). The park reproduces the history of France. On a huge area are built villages where people live and work, as in previous centuries. There is a village of the XVIII century, where a kind shoe-maker will hollow out real sabots for you.

There are shows that illustrate French life since Gallo-Roman times: chariot races, gladiator battles, Roman parades. The water theatre will delight your eyes with a real ballet of thousands of water jets controlled by a computer. On the ground you will find a real paradise: Renaissance rose gardens, a flowery plain, unique gardens.

Cinoscenia is a gigantic spectacle that has already captured the imagination of 6 million spectators and is famous throughout Europe. From June to September, on a stage covering 18 hectares, 2,700 artists present 28 different performances, including those illustrating the history of the members of the Maupillier family over 700 years.

The park is open in May on Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00 to 19.00. From 1 June to 15 September, every day from 10.00 to 19.00.
