The Museum of German History is housed in the building of the former Arsenal, built in the Baroque style in 1706. In the courtyard are the famous "Masks of Dying Warriors", a masterpiece of Baroque art by sculptor A. Schlüter.

The Arsenal building was used under the Hohenzollerns as the "Hall of Fame" of the Prussian state, and since 1952 it has been the Museum of German History from the mid-seventeenth century to the present day.
