The name "Remer" - Roman - the most beautiful square of the city was given to one of the buildings where Italian merchants stayed overnight in the old days. Here you can admire the beautiful half-timbered houses of the 15-18th centuries.
The town hall with its three Gothic facades is also located here. The magnificent facade of the town hall is decorated with statues of Emperors Frederick Barbarossa, Charles IV, Maximillian II and Ludwig II. In the centre of the square stands a statue of the goddess of justice - another symbol of Frankfurt.
