Bremen's oldest neighbourhood, Schnoor, was a street of sailors in the Middle Ages, craftsmen and dockers. Houses of the 15-18th century are located here so close to each other, as if tied on a cord. as if they were strung together on a cord. This neighbourhood miraculously escaped destruction and in 1958. it was restored in 1958.
In the centre of the quarter there is a small Gothic Franciscan church with a decorative pediment, arched niches and herringbone brickwork. Nearby is the Toy Museum.
Schnoor has many antique shops, art workshops and restaurants, cafeterias and souvenir shops. Here is Germany's smallest hotel, consisting of three rooms.
