In 2004, Space Centre Bremen opened here - the largest indoor amusement park in Europe (22,000 square metres). It was an amusement park created with the most modern technology (4D). Space Centre consisted of nine venues, which include virtual rides like space travel, an IMAX cinema.
Unfortunately, the park did not live up to the hopes of investors and was closed.
In September 2008, the Waterfront Bremen shopping and entertainment centre was opened on this site. It features many shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars. A multi-screen IMAX cinema has been opened.
