My Application

To the left of the Doge's Palace is the Straw Bridge, so named because barges bringing straw for the prisons docked here. This bridge was built in 1360 and widened in the 19th century. The view from this spot is a breathtaking picture of the gloomy Palace Canal with the Bridge of Sighs connecting the Doge's Palace with the 16th century New Prisons. 16th-century building of the New Prisons.
