Dickley Castle is one of the oldest properties of the von Palen family. The manor house is located in the village of Dikli, about 40 kilometres from the Latvian city of Cesis. The first mention of the manor dates back to the beginning of the 15th century, at that time it belonged to Gottschalk von der Palen. The estate belonged to the Palen family for three centuries, in the autumn of 1722 the manor together with the village of Vikyu was was sold to a stable manager. In its long history, the estate has changed hands many times in its long history, it was sold or simply inherited.

The modern Dickley building, built in the neo-Gothic style, was built in 1896. At that time, the owner of the estate was Baron P. Wolf. Even more ancient than the than the manor house is the manor's cage (barn), built in the late 18th century. The cell is made in the style of late classicism.

The building of the manor harmoniously complements the park, the area of which is 20 hectares. The landscaped park begins behind the pond. When the park was explored in the 60s of the 20th century, about 20 species of exotic trees were recorded, at that time their age reached 30-40 years.

In 2000, the estate was purchased by a private firm with the aim of restoring and restoration of the castle as well as the buildings belonging to the estate. Initially, a restoration project was drawn up, according to which restoration work began in 2002. The restoration was carried out with the preservation and restoration of ancient details from the basement to the attic.

The castle was opened to the public on 26 July 2003. Now this day is celebrated every year is now celebrated as the day of the estate's rebirth.

Now the estate has a hotel, a restaurant, a bath complex with Jacuzzi and swimming pool, as well as a spa and facilities for events (weddings, banquets). In 2005, the restaurant and hotel received a certificate of conformity 4-star standard.
