Between Old Town and New Town is a "Nature Reserve" covering 370 acres of native woodland that has escaped development. The Park has a wildlife information centre and several guided trails through the forest, and the crocodile-rich Lingaji River flows through the park itself. Ornithologists rate this park very highly for its diversity of tropical bird species, and several species of mammals such as hyenas, leopards and tigers are also preserved here, many of which unfortunately only live in cages.
