My Application

Magnificent scenery, free passage through forested mountain valleys, well-trodden paths and well-maintained special huts and camps make this the best trekking area in the country. The terrain here rises very steeply and suddenly from a hilly plain to mountainous terrain surrounded by almost vertical cliffs of spectacular bare rock, many of which reach 1000 metres in height. Mulanje's peaks (including the highest in the country, Sapitwa) protrude above the mist that often covers the upper slopes, giving these mountains one of their local names, "Island in the Sky". Most of the peaks can be climbed without special technical tricks, which makes them particularly attractive to tourists.
