The large, majestic Ta'Pinu Church is located in a clear field near the village of Arb. It can be reached by bus, which runs from Victoria at hourly intervals. The huge temple, built of local terracotta stone, sits just off the motorway. It is flanked by a large viewing platform, surrounded by a low parapet and decorated with sculptures of saints and colourful flowerbeds. It overlooks the neighbouring hills and the isolated buildings of the village in the distance. Opposite Ta'Pinu Church, on the other side of the motorway, is another local landmark, the Way of the Cross, which consists of 14 sculptures arranged along the hillside.

Ta'Pinu Church is the destination of many pilgrims arriving in Malta. It was built relatively recently, in the 1930s. Before that, a 16th century chapel stood here, the main treasure of which was an image of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary created by the artist Amedeo Perugino. Nowadays it can be seen in the same chapel, which was built into the new church. There was a time when they wanted to demolish the chapel, but in the presence of the Pontiff's envoy, one of the workers injured his hand just trying to strike the walls of the temple with a hammer. The chapel was therefore decided to be rebuilt. At the end of the XIX century, a local peasant woman passing by the old church heard the voice of the Virgin Mary. Then many believers regarded it as a miracle and began to come here with personal requests to the Virgin Mary. And the prayers for the recovery of the sick suddenly began to come true. The common prayer around the chapel saved the island of Gozo from the plague epidemic. And to this day, those who ask the Virgin Mary for health - their own and their loved ones - still come to the temple. The faithful, who have been helped by the Virgin Mary, bring drawings, photos and notes with grateful words. There is a corridor in the temple, the walls of which are completely covered with these testimonies of the miracles of Our Lady.
