The Fjellheisen cable car was officially opened in 1961 by shipowner Anton Jacobsen. The cable car still operates to this day from the beginning of the March to September ski season and during the New Year holidays.
The ascent on Fjellheisen to the observation deck of Mount Stursteinen, located at 420 metres above sea level, takes only 4 minutes. Once you reach your destination, you will be breathtaken by the fantastic view of the local scenery: mountains, rivers, fjords, the panorama of the city.
On the mountain there is a restaurant with delicious food, a playground and a shop with souvenirs.
