The Norwegian Postal Museum was established in 1947 in the city of Oslo, however, in 2003. it moved to the town of Lillehammer in the district of Maihaugen. The Postal Museum reflects more than 360-year history of the Norwegian postal service through paintings, photographs, texts. There are even exhibits dedicated to modern means of communication - electronic mail and short text messages.
In 1854, Norway's first railway line opened. Special wagons were used to sort mail and text messages during the special wagons were used for sorting mail and stamping letters.
At the exhibition visitors can see all, existing since 1855, Norwegian postal stamps since 1855, as well as explore how the Norwegian public postal service has developed into an effective communication of the Norwegian postal service, which has overcome many challenges due to the country's mountainous landscape and harsh climate.
