The Norwegian Railway Museum is located near the town of Hamar by Lake Mjøsa and belongs to the Norwegian national railway administration. This oldest museum, founded in 1896, houses various station buildings in an open-air area, it houses various station buildings, locomotives and carriages of the first editions.

The museum contains a large collection of literature on the railway theme, photographs with views of various railways, illustrations, technical drawings and a collection of memorabilia.

The museum is open to visitors from June to September. During this period, video and animated films are shown, and computer simulators operate. While in the office of the station manager, you can send a message using Morse code, or try to control the movement of trains. Since 1962, in the summer, it has been offered to take a short trip along the narrow-gauge railway by steam locomotive.

Everyone can combine an informative tour of the railway museum with a pleasant holiday on Lake Mjösa, taking a swim in its warm waters.
