Oslo City Museum, located in the Vigeland Sculpture Park, was built in 1905 under the careful direction of Norwegian architect Fritz Holland. The museum is housed in an 18th-century mansion with partially preserved historic interiors.

The museum complex includes the Oslo City Museum, the Oslo Theatre Museum and the Oslo Intercultural Museum. The exhibition reproduces the appearance of the thousand-year history of the city and presents an impressive collection of paintings and other works of art.

The museum has the largest library in the country, which has collected documentary and historical materials on the development of the city of Oslo, particularly the municipality of Aker.

Moreover, the museum presents a fifteen-minute documentary film about the history of Oslo in English. For the convenience of tourists the museum has a café "Mathia" where you can buy mineral water, juices, ice-cream, sandwiches, cakes, etc.
