Gudvangen is a small village located in a narrow gorge in Nereifjord amidst steep cliffs. Anorthosit Mountain is home to the Magic White Caves, world-famous for the largest deposits of anorthosite, a white rock that can be found even on the moon.
All year round in the cave keeps an average temperature of about 8 degrees Celsius. Tourists are given jackets and helmets before the start of the tour. The labyrinth cave consists of of several halls of different sizes. On all routes carpeted paths underfoot, which makes it easier to move around inside the cave.
The Magic Caves of Gudvangen are open to tour groups and by appointment. Here visitors can sit in the stone bar and dining room, where all the benches are covered with reindeer skins.
The caves are located near the road that runs close to the Gudvangen seafront.
