The 57-storey skyscraper, 1322 Golden Empire Tower, rises 203 metres in the business centre of Manila. It is the tallest building in the Philippine capital and the seventh tallest building in the country. Consisting of 55 above-ground floors and 2 underground levels for car parks, the skyscraper is considered the most posh residential building in Manila.
Both foreign architectural firms worked on the design of the skyscraper, as well as local architectural firms. The building is designed in such a way that on each side there is a clear view of the surrounding area and Manila Bay on the horizon. The sea breeze circulates freely through the skyscraper's wide windows, allowing the maximum amount of natural light to enter the building, while sun visors prevent residents from suffering from heat and glare. At night, the skyscraper is illuminated so that it is visible from almost anywhere in the city.
"1322 Golden Empire Tower" is located on historic Rojas Boulevard along the Manila Bay waterfront, in a part of the city that is renowned for its cultural and economic potential. Directly across the boulevard is the US Embassy, and a few blocks away are Robinsons Place Manila, the historic Luneta Park, also known as Rizal Park, and the historic Intramuros district. Nearby attractions include the Quirino Exhibition Pavilion, the new Manila Oceanarium and three luxury five-star hotels. A few kilometres from the skyscraper begins the Cultural Centre of the Philippines and is located in the Manila Yacht Club.
The building itself houses a fitness centre with sauna and massage rooms, mini gardens, a swimming pool with a bar and party area, and a playroom for children. The building is equipped with high-speed lifts with control panels, digital communicators and video phone entrance control for identification of those entering. For safety, smoke extractors are located on each floor, which in case of fire "pump" smoke from the halls, an emergency alarm system and sealed fire exits. On the roof of the skyscraper is helipad.
