In the heart of Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines, sits the Burnham Park, the city's oldest public park, named in honour of American architect Daniel Burnham, who designed the Baguio development plan in the early 20th century plan for the development of Baguio. Several narrow paths around the park lead to Camp John Hay Camp, a former US military base in the Philippines. And from the park itself there is a view of Mount Cabuyao, the highest peak in the Baguio region. Its height is more than 2 thousand meters. There are several relay centres and a private observatory that once belonged to the United States. And at the very top of the mountain there is a small community of farmers. From here, you have a marvellous view of the entire city of Baguio and the province of Pangasinan to the west. On particularly clear days, you can even see ships passing in the South China Sea.

In the center of Burnham Park there is an artificial lake, where you can take a boat ride, rented here. In the southern part there is a platform for skateboarding enthusiasts. The east side contains the Melvin Jones Grandstand and the football field, which is usually used for parades, concerts and political rallies. At the western end of the park you can visit the Orangery Orchid Orangery with an amazing collection of plants and the Children's Playground with many of different attractions. Here you can also hire bicycles, including tricycles for the youngest children. In the northern part of the park in the middle of a marvellous rose garden, there's a monument to Daniel Burnham.
