The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manila Specialises in classical and contemporary fine arts. The museum was founded in 1976 to host exhibitions of foreign artists, and since 1986, it has also exhibited works by Filipino artists. The exhibition halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art have, over the years, featured the works of Picasso, Clay, Walter Gropius and other artists. Every year in the museum organises four major exhibitions of well-known local and international artists.

The museum consists of 4 main galleries and several smaller exhibition spaces. In the gallery on the basement floor of the building you can see gold items from the 8th to 13th centuries (jewellery, ritual figurines, etc.) and a collection of ceramics from the of pre-Columbian ceramics. The exposition "Window to Heaven" demonstrates amazing Russian icons, while the exhibition "Aura: Religious Art" presents handmade religious images made by Filipino artists.
