Passonanca Park is located in the city's neighbourhood of the same name Zamboanga, also known as "little Baguio in the south" (Baguio is the summertime capital of the Philippines). The park, set 500 metres above sea level and surrounded by rolling green hills, is one of the city's main is one of the city's main attractions. A small, tranquil stream, along the banks of which trees, shrubs and marvellous flowers are lush with flowers of amazing beauty - orchids alone are represented here by 600 species! The highlight is a huge tree on top of which a small hut is hidden, - where you can even stay overnight. The hut was built in 1960 in 1960 as a "Youth Education Centre". Today it's visited by several thousand of tourists a year.

The construction of Passonanca Park began in 1912 under the leadership of Governor of Mindanao Island, John Pershing, who for this purpose "wrote out" from America for this purpose. Today, the the park has three public swimming pools - one the size of an Olympic swimming pool, another in demand. Olympic swimming pools, another is designed as a fountain, and the third one is designed for children. The water in the pools is constantly renewed. And around picnic areas and gazebos, which, however, must be booked in advance. In addition to the swimming pools, the park also has a camp for local Boy Scouts and a stadium.

Another attraction in Passonanca is the Maria Clara Lobregat Garden, named after the former mayor of Zamboanga. In it, you can see collections of of amazingly beautiful flowers such as orchids and roses, as well as the House of Butterflies, which several hundred of these exquisite creatures of nature. There is also bird aviary, which is home to parrots, turkeys, eagles and other birds.

There is a 1.8 km long eco-trail running through the territory of Pasonanka, which leads to the highest point of the park, which leads to the highest point of the park, offering a marvellous view of the surrounding rain forest.
