The Academy of Fine Arts - is a public university of fine and applied arts. It is Warsaw's highest educational institution.

In 1816, the University of Warsaw established the Department of Fine Arts under the leadership of renowned professors Marcello Bacchiar. The academy currently has the following faculties: painting, Graphic Arts, Design, Interior Design, Sculpture, Art Restoration, Management Culture, and the Faculty of Arts. art, management culture and the Faculty of Art, Media and Scenography. 

Chopin lived in one of the wings of the Academy in 1826, which is commemorated by a memorial plaque and a museum.
