My Application

Florian Gate, first mentioned in 1307, is dedicated to St Florian, patron of Krakow. The entrance gate is housed in a square tower made of boulders, built in the early 14th century and topped with an intricately shaped 16th-century top. Inside the lancet portal of the tower there is a capitol with an image of the Virgin Mary. On on its northern façade there is a heraldic eagle carved after a drawing by Jan Matejka; on the southern façade there is a Baroque relief of the Virgin Mary. on the southern façade is a Baroque relief depicting St Florian, who was also venerated as a protector against fires. as a protector against fires.
