The church of San Franciscu was built in 1475-1550 in the Gothic style with Manuelino inclusions, designed by Martín Lorenzo, on the site of an earlier 13th-century Romanesque church. Above the Manuelino entrance, you can see the figure of a pelican, the emblem of King Joao II, and an astrolabe, the emblem of King Manuel I.
