In the Khapgal Gorge, on the territory of Alushta region there is the most full-flowing waterfall of the Crimean peninsula - Dzhur-Dzhur. This is a turbulent and very picturesque waterfall, the name of which in translation from Armenian means "water-water". "water-water." Dzhur-Dzhur never dries up, even in the driest seasons. The waterfall is formed by the waters of the Ulu-Uzen River, which descends on a three-slope rapids from a hundred-metre height and a wide five-metre rapids from a limestone 15-metre natural ledge collapses into a fairly deep and then flows down the winding river bed in a powerful stream.
Djur-Jur, or as the Greeks called it in the Middle Ages Cremasto-Nero, which means "hanging water". means "hanging water", is a nationally significant natural monument. of nature. The streams of the waterfall, murmuring, slide down and, breaking into thousands of water shards turning the water spray into ice dust, in the mist of which a bright rainbow plays. Such an unusual spectacle simply mesmerises with its fairy-tale beauty: sunlit frothy jets of water, gurgling, falling from high, mossy greenish rocks, all against a backdrop of bleak, rugged mountains.
Not far from the waterfall is a very interesting cave Dzhur-Dzhur, the length of which is almost 800 metres, and the depth of which is almost 800 metres. which is almost 800 metres long and 22 metres deep. The cave is surrounded by an old forest, it is preserved by ancient beech and hornbeam trees, which harmonise perfectly with the surrounding mountain cliffs.
Dzhur-Dzhur water streams and the Khapgal Gorge are one of the unique hydrological reserves of the Crimea and is simply a wonderfully beautiful place, visiting which everyone will leave in his heart only the most pleasant memories.
