The natural sulphur springs are located in the south of the island, near the village of Soufriere, which can be reached by bus from Dominica's capital, Roseau. The locals speak a dialect of patois (a local dialect of French), and are very expressive. Your journey starts near the hamlet, you take the left-hand road and walk to the beginning of the ascent to the sulphur springs.
At the very beginning you can already see special wooden huts without windows, without doors, without walls and no roof. They are built so that travellers can sit in the sulphur baths and relax as much as possible. These springs are made by the hand of man. You can go further and you can see the actual natural sulphur springs, which are so it's nice to warm up in. They have a favourable and healing effect on the skin, after a sulphur baths it will be smooth and soft.
After that, the path begins to go uphill and takes about 30 minutes at a brisk pace. All around you will be a dense forest with exuberant vegetation: tall tropical plants, bizarrely curved trunks of trees, bright sunlight shining through the leaves and blinding your eyes. Lizards and other animals can be seen here. There are occasional hurricanes, that change the landscape. You'll also see amazing streams and creeks and rivulets that you can call tea rivers, milk rivers. You'll notice beautiful landscapes and colourful lollipop stones. On reaching the spring, sit in the hot sulphur bath in a hot sulphur bath and appreciate the unique surrounding scenery.
