The largest Bird World Wildlife Sanctuary and Monkey Park is a zoo in the small town of Hout Bay, located in a valley on the Atlantic coast 20 kilometres south of Cape Town's central district.

This park is one of the largest Bird World parks. Over 3,000 birds and 400 different species of small animals reside in 100 spacious landscaped aviaries, allowing visitors to get as close as possible to the amazing fauna.

The park's aviaries are located on 4 hectares of tropical Hout Bay Gardens. The reserve is home to South African birds as well as exotic birds including ostriches, cormorants, pelicans, penguins, parrots, eagles, flamingos, herons, geese, ducks, starlings, guillemots, ibises, emus, magpies, crows, turkeys, pheasants, peacocks and other birds.

Visitors are invited to observe the fascinating lives of birds. See them close-up as they feed, sing, socialise, build nests, incubate eggs and feed their chicks right before your eyes. The spectacles change depending on the season. In the park, birds and animals behave as they would live without fear in the wild. There is a rescue service, a shelter and a nursery that provides care and nursing for injured birds and animals, as well as breeding for endangered species. There are also plenty of monkeys and little squirrel monkeys to interact with face to face. The squirrel monkeys are very mischievous and can even jump up and sit on your shoulder, playing with your hair.

Over 100,000 visitors a year come to this paradise for nature lovers and photographers. The park is one of Cape Town's leading tourist attractions and is tried and tested by every traveller to the South African peninsula.
