Lanzarote's main attraction is the Cueva de los Verdos cave. It is located in the north of the island under the lava fields of the Corona volcano. It is the largest largest lava cave in the world - it stretches for 6 kilometres, with some of its and some of its chambers are 24 metres wide and 15 metres high. The cave was formed when a river of molten basalt from the side crater of Corona continued to flow beneath the cooled and solidified lava layer down into the sea. This created a natural tunnel with bizarrely shaped walls and vaults. In one of the halls of the cave, a concert hall a concert hall.
