Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka, historically known as Ceylon and formally acknowledged as the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, stands as an island country nestled in South Asia. Its location is within the embrace of the Indian Ocean, situated to the southwest of the Bay of Bengal.

This country is distinctively set apart from the Indian peninsula by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait. Sri Lanka adjoins the Maldives to the southwest through maritime boundaries and shares a northern border with India.
