Gröna Lund Tivoli amusement park (literal translation - "Green Grove") is located on the seaside side of the island of Djurgården and is relatively small compared to other amusement parks, mainly due to its central location, which limits its territorial expansion.

Gröna Lund was founded in 1880, making it the oldest amusement park in Sweden. It has amassed more than 30 attractions in a 15-acre area, and is also a popular venue for summer concerts.

In 1883, a German named Jacob Schultheiss rented an area in Stockholm to erect carousels and other amusements, and until 2001, Schultheiss' descendants operated Gröna Lund Park. Since 2006, the park has been owned by the Scandinavia AB Parks and Resorts Group, which is wholly owned by the Titstrand family.

The location of the park is quite unique in the sense that most of its buildings are old residential and commercial structures from the 19th century. Consequently, it was not the buildings that were built for the park, but the park was built around the buildings. The park is divided into three different entertainment areas.

Gröna Lund has most of the famous rides, such as the tunnel of love, the laughing room, and seven roller coasters. Gröna Lund is also known for its rock and pop concerts. For example, a Bob Marley concert in 1980 drew 32,000 people to the park, which is unique because new regulations prohibit such large audiences from gathering at Gröna Lund.

The park is easily accessible by tram, bus or ferry from the city centre. The views over Stockholm from the park are quite spectacular.
