In the town of Samutprakan, near Bangkok, there is a huge crocodile farm, where there is no shortage of tourists. It was founded by Uthai Yongprapakorn, a wealthy businessman and owner of crocodile skin accessory companies. In 1950, a nursery was opened near Bangkok, where different species of reptiles were kept, including rare ones listed in the Red Book. At that time there were few crocodiles here, but now their number has increased to 60 thousand individuals.
Especially for tourists there are performances with crocodiles. Brave trainers pull the toothy reptiles by their tails, put their heads in their mouths and tell how you can cope with an adult crocodile that will try to attack you. Children will love the opportunity to feed young crocodiles with fish heads tied to sticks, while adult tourists will love the shop with crocodile skin products. A local restaurant serves dishes made from crocodile meat.
Travelling around the crocodile farm can be done by elephant or on foot. In addition to the nursery, where reptiles are kept, there is a snake pavilion, aviaries with birds, mainly parrots, and a small zoo, the inhabitants of which are not afraid of people and willingly pose for all comers.
On the territory of the farm there is a large lake on which you can ride on catamarans. Nearby is a dinosaur museum with large models of prehistoric monsters.
Getting to the crocodile farm can be done either by public transport or by taxi. It is better to negotiate the fare with the taxi driver in advance.
